Rules and Guidelines

To be eligible to participate in the Lakeland Science and Engineering Fair, you must be in grades 9-12 or equivalent and not have reached age 20 on or before May 1 preceding the Intel ISEF. In addition you must reside in one of the following counties: Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, Manitowoc, Calumet, Kewaunee, Door, Outagamie, Winnebago or Brown Counties.

If you are interested in participating in the Lakeland Science and Engineering Fair you must:

  1. Submit a Student Registration. The registration fee is $10 per student. (Note: Team projects may have a maximum of three members and each team member must submit a Student Registration Form individually and each team member must pay the $10 registration fee.)

    The due date for this form is January 30, 2015 and may be mailed to the following address (electronic submission preferred):

  2. Submit ISEF Forms 1, 1A, Research Plan and 1B. Every student must submit ISEF Checklist for Adult Sponsor Form (1), Student Checklist (1A), a Research Plan, and Approval Form (1B).
    (Note: For Team Projects each team member must submit Approval Form (1B) individually. However, team members must submit Checklist for Adult Sponsor (1), Student Checklist (1A), a Research Plan, and any other required forms jointly.)
  3. Other ISEF Forms. If the project involves the use of Human Subjects, Vertebrate Animals, Potentially Hazardous Biological Agents, and/or the use of Hazardous Chemicals, Activities or Devices, IRB/SRC approval and other ISEF forms will be required. To determine which additional forms need to be completely and submitted please use the Rules Wizard. Questions in this area can be submitted in writing via email to yancjc@lakeland.edu
  4. An Abstract. Each student or team must submit a 250 word (maximum), one-page abstract which summarizes the current year's work. It must describe the work done by the students and not by the adult supervisor.

All ISEF Forms and the Project Abstracts (Steps 2-4) are due by January 30, 2015 and may be scanned and sent electronically to Dr. John Yang at yancjc@lakeland.edu or mailed to the following address:
